Testing Structure of Qualcomm 802.11ad Solution.

This paper introduces a technique of using System capabilities for Functional and RF testing. This technique is based on the direct implementation of part of Device Driver in the test program. It comprises Firmware parsing and loading, Firmware to Tester Software interaction mechanism and Firmware diagnostic collection. This scheme replaces the need for design delivery of test patterns or configuration tables and enables dynamic System flows on tester. Using these capabilities, the RF testing of 802.11ad devices was very fast conveyed from System to Tester. Although the current implementation in the test program was specific to our device, this scheme may be rescaled to any design by reuse of device specific driver code.
