Natural ester has disadvantages such as poor oxidative stability and undesirable low temperature performance, which limit its widespread use in oil immersed transformers. Thus, as an alternative, this paper focuses on the potential of bio-based anti-oxidized TMP ester for use as transformer oil. Bio-based antioxidant TMP ester is prepared by the transesterification reaction of selected complex methyl esters and TMP. The successful synthesis of the target product is confirmed by FTIR characterization. And the basic properties of the synthesized bio-based anti-oxidized TMP ester are tested and analyzed. The results show that the bio-based anti-oxidized TMP ester has excellent physicochemical properties and significantly enhanced oxidative stability, with an increase of 37.52% compared with the base oil, more than twice the effect of adding the same type of methyl ester antioxidant.
