Purpose/Aim

With the large-scale and networked development of subways, the superposition of subway stray currents will increase, and the problems of buried metal corrosion and main transformer DC bias caused by stray currents will become more serious. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out research on subway network modeling and analyze the distribution characteristics of stray current in networked subways.

Experimental/Modeling methods

Based on the through-structure of the grounding system of the subway network, using the centralized parameter modeling method, a three-layer networked subway analytical model of "rail-drainage network-through grounding" is established, and the switching and switching of the rail limit device (OVPD) are analyzed. Effects of equivalent resistance parameters on the distribution characteristics of stray currents in subway networks.

Results/discussion

In order to verify the validity of the model, the proposed modeling method is used to establish a single-section bilateral power supply line and the simulation results are compared with those of the traditional model. Under the same conditions, the simulation results of rail potential and stray current between the model in this paper and the traditional model are in good agreement, so the proposed modeling method can be considered effective.

Conclusions

  1. The action of OVPD will affect the increase of the rail potential amplitude at the far-end station of the line, which will lead to the chain action of OVPD.

  2. In the networked subway structure, the action of OVPD affects the rail potential level in other subway lines.

  3. When the equivalent internal resistance of the OVPD device changes in the range of 0.1~10Ω, the rail potential and stray current fluctuate greatly.
