An ultrasonic Signal Detection Method of Cable Partial Discharge Based on Level Scanning

Partial discharge detection is an important means to find potential faults of power equipment and maintain the safe operation of the power grid. However, due to the large power consumption and complex installation of traditional partial discharge detection methods, it is difficult to realize the distributed sensing of power equipment. In this paper, an ultrasonic signal detection method for cable partial discharge based on level scanning method is proposed, which is used to detect partial discharge signals at cable terminals and intermediate joints. This paper expounds the detection principle and implementation method of level scanning method, builds the cable partial discharge defect experimental platform, extracts and analyzes the data characteristics of partial discharge signals collected by level scanning method and traditional pulse current method, and verifies the feasibility of level scanning method in power cable partial discharge detection. The detection method has the advantages of small amount of data transmission, high accuracy and stable detection performance, which can be widely used in online partial discharge monitoring of power cables and provide reference for intelligent application of distribution network equipment.
