Effects of Dopamine-silane Coupling Agent Interfacial Treatment on Electrical, Thermal and Mechanical properties of Aramid Fiber/Epoxy Resin Composites

In this paper, dopamine and silane coupling agent were used to treat aramid fiber powder (AP), and the changes in microstructure and chemical composition before and after the treatment were studied. The untreated and treated aramid fiber powder (AP, KD-AP) were formed into composite materials with epoxy resin by curing process. The elastic modulus, trap distribution, breakdown strength and volume conductivity of the AP/epoxy resin (EP) composites were measured and analyzed. The optimized processing parameters of modified KD-AP doping concentration were obtained, and the mechanism of breakdown voltage variation was explained from the view of trap distribution.
