The Gordon Research Seminar on Mycotoxins and Phycotoxins is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other early-career scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
This meeting will focus on emerging and recurring issues associated with the occurrence of fungal and algal toxins that affect population health. Topics covered will include but are not limited to expanding mycotoxin/phycotoxin distributions, their ecological/physiological significance, novel toxin identification and detection methods, new insights into their toxicology, and risk assessment and management. A panel of experienced investigators will lead a discussion of common research concerns, critical career decisions, and challenges associated with professions in academia, government, and industry. The casual setting characteristic of a GRS and evening social event will provide an ideal networking environment for both peers and mentors.
