The 3rd IFAC AMEST Workshop which follows the AMEST events (2012 in Seville and 2010 in Lisbon) will be held in Biarritz next October.

Today, maintenance is not only addressed under a technical focus, but with a comprehensive system engineering approach. Therefore, the impact of maintenance services improvement, the use of new ICTs for maintenance, intelligent maintenance systems, novel integrated approaches for reliability and maintenance engineering are some of the issues to be addressed by maintenance assets in view of a competitive manufacturing. Within this context, the aim of the Workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners with background in reliability, maintainability, logistic support, PHM, diagnosis, prognostics, lifecycle management, sustainability in order to provide a survey of the advances in the field of maintenance and of its ability to take up the challenge of plant performance enhancement.
