The global well population continues to grow, energy demand remains and the value challenges of new and existing developments on all frontiers, subsea, offshore and onshore, are very real in the current market. Tight margins, introduction of updated regulations and societal concerns will be a challenge to the E&P industry for managing existing and new assets. The challenges that are related to management of well integrity are considerable in aging fields; extending the well operating life and the high cost of well abandonment in a more stringently regulated environment demands far greater transparency in assurance managing the wells within operating limits over their full lifecycle. Increased collaboration between Authorities and Industry across borders offers an opportunity for increasing the alignment in the regulatory requirements.

The aim of this workshop is to embrace the above topics with discussions around best practices and case histories with breakout sessions that provide opportunities for in depth discussions to achieve a coherent understanding of the challenges with respect to regulatory requirements or industry standards for managing well integrity effectively over the lifecycle.

This workshop has been designed to maximize opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing and learning. The event includes five sessions concentrating on well integrity with a deeper review of regulatory requirements against industry standards in well design, risk mitigation, risk management, lessons learned and P&A.

Each session will begin with selected presentations, followed by the opportunity for detailed discussions, case studies and group work activities. The workshop will aim to provide a road map for the way forward with respect to how Operator's branch organizations can cooperate to generate more alignment between country/region approaches within well barrier requirements and well integrity management. In addition, it will aim to identify gaps within the well integrity and abandonment tool box and how technology breakthroughs could bridge some of these gaps in a joint effort involving Industry and Authorities.
