For the first time in its nearly 40 years of history, ICSE – the premier conference in software engineering sponsored by ACM and IEEE CS – is coming to Latin America. Please join us in Buenos Aires in May 20-28, 2017 to present, discuss and be inspired at the event where top minds in software engineering research, practice and education discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and experiences.
ICSE is the flagship conference in software engineering, and its research track features the most recent and significant innovations in the field. We invite submissions of high quality research papers that describe original and unpublished results on any topic of empirical or theoretical software engineering research.
All research track submissions in compliance with the submission policy and within the scope of the conference will be evaluated through a single-blind, two-stage process involving a program committee and a program board. Eligible submissions will be evaluated by at least three members of the program committee, with the program board and program committee working together to make the final acceptance decisions. Authors will have the opportunity to see their reviews from the program committee and provide a short clarification before the final decisions are made.
All submissions must conform to the ICSE 2017 formatting and submission instructions and must not exceed 10 pages for the main text, inclusive of figures, tables, appendices, etc. References may be included on up to two additional pages. All submissions must be in PDF. The page limit is strict, and it will not be possible to purchase additional pages at any point in the process (including after the paper is accepted).
Each individual author is limited to a maximum of three submissions as an author or co-author. This new policy was put in place to address the rapidly increasing imbalance between the amount of reviewing service requested from the conference and the availability of willing and competent volunteer reviewers. Authors of co-authored submissions are jointly responsible for respecting this policy. In case of violations, only the first three submissions (in order of submission number) will be sent for review.
As part of the submission process, authors will have the option to indicate whether their manuscript is an original submission or the resubmission of a manuscript previously submitted to and rejected from any publication venue. Improved versions of previously submitted work are enthusiastically welcomed, and the authors are encouraged to use the optional "Improvements" field of the submission form to indicate where the work was previously submitted and how it was improved.
By submitting to the ICSE Research Track, authors acknowledge that they are aware of and agree to be bound by the ACM plagiarism policy and procedures. In particular, papers submitted to ICSE 2017 must not have been published elsewhere and must not be under review or submitted for review elsewhere while under consideration for ICSE 2017.
Submissions must comply with the IEEE Policy on Authorship
