Currently, the Institute includes 8 research laboratories and the research and production group totaling 119 people; among them 58 researchers including 12 Doctors of Science and 40 Ph.D.
The following basic and applied research works are carried out in the Institute:
Development of materials with a complex of ordered physic-chemical and mechanical properties and structure based on organic polymers and inorganic compounds;
Development of the chemical structure theory and of synthesis methods of organic compounds including compounds with biological activity.
The Institute carries out project investigations in the frame of targeted Federal Programs:
“Investigations in priority directions of the development of science and technology”;
“The State support of the integration of higher education and abstract science”;
regional programs financed by the budget of Perm Region.
Research works in the frame of basic research programs of the Presidium of the RAS, of the Department of Chemistry and Material Science of the RAS as well as in the frame of joint investigations of Ural, Siberian and Far-East Divisions of the RAS are carried out.
Investigations of the Institute are supported by grants of:
Russian Fund for Basic Research;
President of the Russian Federation – for the State support of young Russian researchers;
Domestic Science Encouragement Fund.
In 2009, investigations supported by 25 grants of the Russian Fund for Basic Research and by 3 grants of the President of the Russian Federation are carried out in the Institute. Also, the Institute collaborates with the Ministry of Defense, through the Section of Applied Problems under Presidium of the RAS and through the Agency for Development of Basic Military Technologies and Special Projects.
