Health Informatics is a multi-disciplinary field that comes at the intersection of computer science, information science, social science, behavioral science and health care. The field is primarily concerned with the techniques, methods, devices and ICT technologies which are employed to optimize the acquisition, storage, retrieval, processing and analyzing of information in the healthcare and medical domains. In particular, health informatics is driven by computers, information and communication systems. The overall goal of the conference is to bring people from different fields and disciplines together, exchange research ideas and results, and encourage discussion about how to provide efficient and effective support for patient and population healthcare using the continuous advancements of the ICT technologies in addition to having a common understanding for the various research challenges in this multi-disciplinary field.
