Regulation is an important mechanism of an individual and more generally, of a micro-ecosystem. In light of the rapid development of genomics and metagenomics, great progress has been achieved in biological regulation. In organism, the regulations of gene expression at the molecular level often recur to gene regulatory network which is the core of an individual bio-system. The regulations in an organism may involves interactions among small molecules, genes, proteins, RNAs, miRNAs et al. In a micro-ecosystem, microbiota and their interactions profoundly regulates systemic bioavailability and metabolism of resources of host habitats. Biosystematic regulations in biological and micro-ecological system are useful in understanding the law of biology and ecology. The practical and theoretical studies in biosystematics regulations provides potential applications in the diagnosis, treatment, and drug design for genetically inherited or microbe-associate diseases. The goal of the workshop is to bring together biomedical scientists and bioinformaticians to address the challenges arising in the field of biosystematics regulations. In particular, this workshop welcomes papers that focus on the novel computational methods and data analysis for predicting gene and microbial regulations from genomic and metagenomic data. Manuscripts should be submitted via the submission system of BIBM 2015(Submission page), which will be blindly reviewed by at least two reviewers. Submission implies willingness of at least one author to register and present at the symposium. Accepted full paper will be published by IEEE CPS Press (EI) on the conference. Selected excellent papers will be published in an alternative track--Publication of an abridged one-page abstract in the IEEE proceedings and invitation to submit a full-length paper to BIBM 2015 special issues of BMC Bioinformatics (SCI) or BMC Systems Biology (SCI). Considering the VISA barriers, if most of the authors cannot attend the conference in Washington, BIBM 2015 authorize us to convene a satellite conference in Wuhan, China at December 2015. Therefore, the workshop presents the opportunity for those in the bioinformatics and biomedicine research community with an active interest in assistive technologies to participate at a relevant and focused workshop hosted within an internationally recognized conference.
