We are pleased to announce that the 10th China-Japan-Korea Joint Conference on Geography will be held in Shanghai, China during October 9-12, 2015. Over the past decade, this regional annual meeting has been a great success, providing a wonderful academic forum and social platform for scholars and students all around Asia. As it comes to its 10th anniversary, we pronounce a parallel conference known as “Asian Conference on Geography” to reflect this fast growth in both the number of attendees and geographical coverage, and it will make this year’s meeting even more interesting! There will be many new scholars and friends to join the academic discussions, shed light on common topics from new perspectives, and interact with unique cultural backgrounds. Please come and join us to celebrate this exciting gala of Asian geographers in the beautiful October of Shanghai. This year's conference theme is Urbanizing Asia: Diversity versus Globalization. By selecting this theme, we recognize the rivalry between cultural diversity and globalization in the era of rapid urbanization in Asia and hope to explore many serious common issues we have been facing, such as population, resources, environment, socioeconomics and local cultures, which require comprehensive analyses from geospatial perspectives. To emphasize this theme, the Conference plans to organize topical sessions, special panel discussions, student paper competition, urban culture expedition, riverboat night tour, and even field trips to preservation sites of local cultures.
