From 20-25 May 2013, the International Hydropower Association will hold the world's most important gathering of hydropower stakeholders in Kuching, Sarawak, the largest state of Malaysia.
The 2013 IHA World Congress will bring together a range of key actors from all over the world. Decision-makers and senior representatives from industry, civil society, international organisations and the finance sector will exchange views on the energy, water and climate change challenges and the solutions that hydropower can provide for sustainable development.
Open to all stakeholders and interested parties, the IHA World Congress is part of a week of cutting-edge international events including the biannual meeting of the IHA Consultative Council, the global workshop on Regional Cooperation, and other forums directly addressing the challenges of sustainable hydropower development worldwide. Congress sessions will provide participants with an opportunity to interact directly with key thought-leaders and influencers in the climate, energy and water policy arenas.
Following the success of previous IHA Congresses, more than 100 countries are anticipated to be represented in Kuching. In May 2013, Sarawak will become the focal point for decision-makers eager to discuss current trends and future challenges in hydropower – the world’s first truly renewable energy source
