Welcome Message from  IAAP President

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the International Association of Applied Psychology, IAAP, I am delighted to invite you to join our 30th International Congress of Applied Psychology, ICAP, which will take place in Beijing, China, from July 24-28, 2023.

This ICAP is the first in China, and the first since our Centennial celebrations. We look forward to welcoming many new participants joining the international community of psychologists from all over the world.

During the last hundred years, IAAP has been serving society, promoting the benefits of applied psychology to people and societies, and expanding its action all around the world. The year 2020 was a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of IAAP's first century and to look ahead and build up strategies and actions for applied psychology to strengthen its services and contributions globally and in the different parts of the world.

Today, IAAP is the largest and oldest international association of psychology with members coming from almost one hundred different countries. Its mission is succinctly stated in Article 1 of its Constitution: […] “to promote the science and practice of applied psychology and to facilitate interaction and communication among applied psychologists around the world.” And this is what the ICAP will do.

The theme for the Congress – Applied Psychology for a Better World – is very appropriate, in the context of post COVID, to promote and increase exchange among psychologists from around the globe in their common pursuits of science and science-based solutions to problems. As the program will feature the latest developments in basic psychological research that can be applied to “real world” problems.

This 30th ICAP will be a memorable platform bridging psychological traditions of the East and the West and bringing together practitioners and researchers in psychology. It will be an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of applied psychology for society in general and for the world as a whole. ICAP 2023 will contribute to creating a better world for the future.

Welcome to the 30th International Congress of Applied Psychology.

Christine Roland-Lévy

President of IAAP
