On behalf of the organizing committee, it is with great delight that we welcome you to the 11th International Conference on Geosynthetics (11ICG) to be held at Coex in Seoul, Korea from September 16 to 21, 2018.
The Korean Geosynthetics Society (KGSS), the IGS Korea Chapter and host of the 11ICG, is expecting to attract more than 1,000 experts from over 100 countries. Currently, about 600 abstracts have already been received.
Under the theme of “Geosynthetics: Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Development,” a wealth of scientific programs has been prepared that will feature a wide selection of experts from geotechnical and geosynthetics professions.11ICG participants will be able to take advantage of a total of 63 sessions that will include invited lectures such as Giroud Lecture, welcome lecture, keynote lectures, prestigious lectures by distinguished experts, short courses and technical sessions.
The organizing committee has been working to build a solid, collaborative network with our sponsors and exhibitors, with unique opportunities available to showcase your products and services. With 3,645 square meters of exhibition space and about100 companies expected, the 11ICG will be one of the largest gatherings of geosynthetics professionals in the world.
Our social events will offer festive moments for us to come together in a congenial atmosphere. Fine cuisine and inspiring entertainment will compose our receptions and dinners to reward ourselves of our efforts and accomplishments. A special technical visit and friendly soccer game will also be held for us to socialize, relax and build our friendships. We hope these social occasions will make for everlasting memories of the conference.
The 11ICG will be held in Seoul. With a history stretching back more than two thousand years, Seoul is also a rising global star as one of the world's most wired cities, ranked first in technology readiness. In Seoul you will experience millennia of royal palaces and historic sites among a futuristic backdrop of some of the world’s most innovative and daring architecture, such as the chicly designed Dior building or recently inaugurated 7017 Soullo Park.
