On behalf of ESA Board of Directors it is my pleasure to invite you to Euroanaesthesia 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.

With over 6000 international delegates and 100 exhibitors from more than 80 countries, Euroanaesthesia is the most outstanding international platform in anaesthesia to enhance knowledge; review innovative techniques; learn on our guidelines; communicate; collaborate and network with representatives of a large international audience.

ESA – the European Society of Anaesthesiology- is the leading European Organisation for Anaesthesia, Critical Care, Pain and Perioperative Medicine.

Our Scientific Committee, under the chairmanship of Prof Charles Marc Samama and Prof Stefan De Hert, has elaborated an outstanding scientific programme.

The Congress has been designed to provide an innovative and comprehensive overview of the latest research developments in anaesthesiology, primarily in the areas of general anaesthesiology, intensive care, perioperative medicine, pain, trauma, critical emergency medicine and many distinguished anaesthesiologists and scientists have joined the faculty and will take part in this Congress.

On Friday, the offer will be enriched by 4 new courses: Point of care guided haemostatic management, Difficult decisions: a workshop in law and ethics; Course on Sepsis and Perioperative medicine in daily practice.

As every year, the three days will be filled with hands-on workshops, refresher courses, lectures, interactive sessions, symposia and much more.

The Sir Robert Macintosh Lecture, this year will be on Perioperative Medicine, delivered by Monty Mythen.

A “Basic Science Anaesthesia Course” will again take place in parallel to the Congress, finalising with a computer based assessment for all participants.
