The Gordon Research Seminar on Natural Products and Bioactive Compounds is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
This meeting will focus on a range of diverse topics related to the chemistry and biology of natural products and bioactive compounds, from understanding the basic science of their origins and synthesis, to their potential applications in the context of human health. The program will include a keynote lecture from an expert in the field, oral presentations selected from submitted abstracts, and a session focused on career mentoring and professional development. Abstracts highlighting the cross-disciplinary nature of the field – emphasizing organic synthesis, methodology development, isolation and characterization, biosynthesis, chemical and synthetic biology, and biological evaluation – are strongly encouraged.
The Keynote speaker will be Shiou-Chuan (Sheryl) Tsai (University of California, Irvine).
