The Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Tropical Infectious Diseases is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education, especially from disease endemic countries, to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
The focus of this meeting is advances in basic and translational science. This Seminar is held for the second time, following the very successful GRS in 2015 The GRS will develop the participants' presentation and networking skills by encouraging them to interact closely with selected senior scientist mentors. The Seminar will close with an interactive session on diverse career options in tropical infectious diseases with a panel that will also discuss funding options in biomedical research. Following the GRS, participants are encouraged to apply and attend the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Tropical Infectious Diseases where research topics discussed will include diseases of major medical significance in the developing world, including arboviral diseases, malaria, helminth infections, and other neglected diseases. The meeting will also include thematic sessions in Microbiomes in Tropical Diseases, Advances in Vector Biology and Translational Advances in Vaccines for Tropical Diseases.
