On behalf of the Indian committee for URSI (INCURSI) and National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL), we cordially invite you to attend the Third Regional Conference on Radio Science 2017 which will be held during 1 - 4 March, 2017 at the world famous town Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India.
As part of the silver jubilee of the establishment of the high power Indian MST Radar, NARL, Gadanki and the INCURSI (under Indian National Science Academy-INSA) are jointly organising the 3rd URSI-RCRS 2017. There will be a special session on the progress in MST Radar based science and technological developments. In addition to the regular sessions, there will be a maximum of five Young Scientist Awards (YSA) and five student paper competition (SPC) prizes. Where appropriate, names of YSA recipients could be recommended for being considered for the YSA awards of the XXXII URSI General Assembly and Scientific Symposium - URSI GASS 2017.
During the conference, a local temples’ tour will be organised for persons registered as accompanying the participants.
Tirupati is a city in Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and is referred to as the "Spiritual Capital of Andhra Pradesh". One of the holiest pilgrimage sites is located on the Tirumala hills abutting the town. The hill top temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara of great antiquity attracts about 50000 devotees from around the world everyday with auspicious festival season rush peaking to above 100000 a day. There are many other historical temples near Tirupati. The historical Chandragiri fort with its Rani Mahal is an attraction where an evening sound and light show play narrates a tale of the bygone times. As of 2011 census, Tirupati had a population of 374,260, making it the ninth most populous city in Andhra Pradesh. It is the seventh most urban agglomerated city in the state, with a population of 459,985. Tirupati is also home to many educational institutions and universities. For the year 2012-13, India's Ministry of Tourism named Tirupati as the "Best Heritage City". Tirupati has been selected as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under Smart Cities Mission by Government of India.
