It is a pleasure to invite you to the 8th Asian Biological Inorganic Chemistry Conference held in Auckland, New Zealand, December 4-9, 2016. The AsBIC conference series addresses the important issues at the forefront of Biological Inorganic Chemistry, with a special emphasis on the developments coming out of the Asian Pacific region.

The AsBIC8 conference will build on the success of previous AsBIC meetings that have been held in Gold Coast, Australia (2014), Hong Kong (2012), Kaohsiung, Taiwan (2010), Jeju Island, Korea (2008), Nanjing, China (2006), Goa, India (2004), and Okazaki, Japan (2002).

The conference will be hosted by the University of Auckland, the largest and most highly ranked university in New Zealand. Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand and a truly multicultural place. Given the unique geographic position surrounded by nature, beaches and islands, it is not surprising that Auckland is one of the cities in the world with the highest living quality. We would be more than happy to share this experience with the AsBIC community and will offer on top of an exciting scientific programme, activities beyond science that will guarantee an unforgettable experience for the delegates!
