Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli in association with Indian Institute of Metals, Trichy Chapter and Indian Welding Society, HQ Chapter, organizing the conference with an objective to bring experts and budding researchers together on a common platform to discuss and exchange ideas on recent developments, findings and progresses on wide areas related to materials and manufacturing engineering. This will provide opportunities to new researchers to explore new directions in their research through interaction with the leaders in the field. It also aims to impart sound knowledge and expertise in selected research field through key note lectures deliver by eminent speakers from India and abroad.
he National Institute of Technology (formerly known as Regional Engineering College) Tiruchirappalli, situated in the heart of Tamil Nadu on the banks of river Cauvery, was started as a joint and co-operative venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1964 with a view to catering to the needs of man-power in technology for the country. NIT-T was registered under Societies Registration Act XXVII of 1975. It offers 10 undergraduate and 23 post-graduate programs in disciplines spanning engineering, science architecture and management. It has been declared as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India (GoI) under NIT Act. According to the Ministry of Human Resources Development, GoI, ranking of Indian Universities 2016, NIT Trichy ranked as the 12th best technical institute in India. The institute has signed MoUs with various industries institutions both in India and abroad to promote collaborative research and consultancy. It has been awarded the Best Industry linked National Institute of Technology in India" by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in the year 2015.
