This workshop invites papers discussing recent advances in computational intelligence in biomedical engineering. In current study, biomedical engineering has become one of the major applications of computational intelligence. Biomedical engineering provide many opportunities and challenges to exploit multi-modal biomedical information to develop systems that can help medical professionals as well as in advancing understanding of basic biological problems. Computational intelligence tools, particularly fuzzy, neural and neuro-fuzzy systems can contribute a lot in this area. This special session will focus on how techniques of computational intelligence (CI) including Fuzzy Systems, neural networks and neural fuzzy systems can solve the problems in biomedical engineering, especially through biomedical signal processing. This session will emphasize on contributions dealing with application-driven research using CI theories and methods and innovative devices in clinical diagnosis, patient monitoring, and management.
