The IASTED International Conference on Robotics and Applications (RA 2009) will be an international forum for researchers and practitioners interested in the advances in robotics, telematics and the broad range of its applications. Specific emphasis will also be placed on telerobotics, which receives increasing attention due to the tremendous progress in telecommunication and data processing technologies. Applications of telematics are widely diversified and interact strongly with telerobotics. Telematics methods offer, in addition, interesting cross fertilization potential with the accompanying conference on telehealth technologies. In the frame of RA 2009, different aspects of robotics will be addressed – including the point of view of developers and researchers from university and industry as well as the aspect of business applications. It is an opportunity to present and observe the latest research results and ideas in the areas of: · Robotics Technologies · Robotics Applications · Telerobotics and Telematics All papers submitted to this conference will be double-blind peer reviewed by at least two members of the International Program Committee and related technical committees. Acceptance will be based primarily on originality, significance, technical soundness, presentation, and references. The conference chair makes the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of the paper.
