Over the last decade, the population of Chinese language learners has experienced a continuous growth in many countries. While the demand of Chinese Teachers is increasing, the quality of Chinese Teachers draws considerable attention by public due to the universal agreement that the higher professionalism of the teaching force can lead to more effective learning. The research in teacher development reveals that Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for teachers is one of the key positive factors to influence teachers’ professional performances.

The Conference on Continuing Professional Development for Chinese Teachers 2016(CPD-CT 2016) offers a great opportunity to bring researchers in teacher development and practitioners in the field of Chinese language teaching together, in order to deliver the latest innovative research results in the field of teacher development and share the best practices of Chinese language teaching and teacher development by a general session with keynote addresses, featured paper sessions, and post-symposium workshop.

The conference chair welcomes policymakers, researchers, Chinese Teachers as well as other practitioners working in the related fields to share the cutting-edge research and practical teaching experiences.
