On behalf of the conference committee, we are pleased to welcome you to the Advances in Materials and Processing Technologies (AMPT) 2016 which to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia during 8th – 11th November 2016.

Founded in 1993 at the Dublin City University, Ireland, the AMPT conference series have since been held around the globe, i.e., Ireland (1995, 1999 and 2003), Portugal (1997), Malaysia (1998 and 2009), Spain (2001), Poland (2004), USA (2006), Korea (2007), Bahrain (2008), Paris (2010), Turkey (2011), Australia (2012), Taiwan (2013) and Dubai (2014). The most recent one was held in Spain in 2015.

AMPT 2016 aims to provide, as before, great opportunities to researchers, scientists and engineers from all over the world to interact, exchange new developments face to face and establish research relationship. The conference will cover a wide range of topics, including powder metallurgy, materials removal processes, deformation processing, processing of new and advanced materials, welding and joining, surface engineering and other related processes.

The venue of the conference – Kuala Lumpur – is the capital city of Malaysia. It is situated on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, just about midway between north and south and approximately 35 kilometers from the coast. Kuala Lumpur is like a melting pot of all wonderful cultures that make up Asia. It epitomizes the nation’s slogan “Malaysia Truly Asia”. From art to history to food, one’s senses are embraced by the city’s dynamic surroundings.

Once again, on behalf of the conference committee, we welcome all of you to the AMPT 2016 conference which we hope will be a great memorable event for all of us.  We look forward to meeting you at the AMPT 2016 conference, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy and experience an exciting scientific event and also the multi-faceted cultural treasures of Malaysia – right here in Kuala Lumpur!
