Oral maxillofacial Prosthodontics is a sub-specialty in the field of Prosthodontics mainly associated with rehabilitation of patients with congenital or acquired defects in the maxillofacial region. One of the major roles of Oral Maxillofacial Prosthodontists is to work with a team of many other experts, all of whom contribute towards the rehabilitation of patients with cancer in this particular region.
Moving forward from a successful hands-on workshop which was held for technicians, training in the construction of extra-oral prosthesis, we aim to organize a more comprehensive and all-encompassing conference on Maxillofacial Prosthodontics for both clinicians as well as technicians.
Planned to be held over a period of 3 days, and to coincide with the 2nd International Conference in Innovative Dentistry (ICID), we intend to have a series of lectures, hands-on workshops for both intra and extraoral prosthesis and discussions on clinical cases. Apart from that, we will be encouraging participants to present their clinical cases and any research or development in this particular field in the format of e poster, which could lead to future research or collaboration for various parties.
We are also hoping, with the line-up of Speakers, to attract participation from the regional countries. These countries, namely Thailand and Indonesia have a rich pool of experts in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and are happy to share their expertise and experience.
Objectives
To advance clinical practice in Oral Maxillofacial Prosthodontics amongst clinicians.
To advance technical skills in Oral Maxillofacial Prosthodontics amongst dental technicians.
To allow for the sharing of expertise and experience in the field of Oral Maxillofacial Prosthodontics between the various groups of clinical specialist involved in the rehabilitation of patients.
