The 2016 edition of the International conference on Malaysia-Indonesia Relations (PAHMI) is celebrating its 10th anniversary and this event is also presented in conjunction with the 111th anniversary of University of Malaya this year!
PAHMI is organised annually by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya with the cooperation of its partner universities in Indonesia to bring together academics, research students and non-governmental activists from both countries to discuss key issues related to Malaysia and Indonesia. Together with UM, original member universities of PAHMI are UI, UGM, UNAND, UNPAD, UNUD and UNHAS. Now, participating universities have expanded to include UNAIR, UNILAK, UNY and many more.
Held alternately in Malaysia and Indonesia, this conference is aimed at promoting a deeper understanding and relations between Malaysia and Indonesia at an academic, inter-societal and non-state level. It also seeks to encourage cooperation between researchers, academic institutions, civil society organisations and individuals in both countries, stimulating dialogue on bilateral relations and common interests of both countries regionally and globally.
It is our pleasure to request you to contribute a scholarly paper looking at a variety of themes of special interest and relevance for Malaysia-Indonesia relations.
We look forward to seeing you in Kuala Lumpur.
