Finland has imported nuclear engineering knowhow from abroad since the 1950's. The Finnish Nuclear Society (FNS) has been distributing this knowledge and in addition, the annual FNS excursions have opened windows to the world. This year is the 50th anniversary of the FNS and it is time to reflect where we are now and where we are going to by organizing an international symposium on Nuclear Science and Technology (NST2016) in early November.
The objective of the two-day event is to bring together professionals in the nuclear energy field and to promote the dialogue among ourselves as well as the communication to society at large. Our symposium gathers together research, industry and authority representatives from Finland and abroad for scientific talks and industry presentations. In connection with the symposium, we organize the FNS 50-year anniversary dinner and lectures for the general public.
The venue of NST2016 is Marina Congress Center in downtown Helsinki that is perfectly suited for an event like this. There is special-prized accommodation available in the neighbouring Scandic Grand Marina hotel.
