Dear Photonics Professionals, Students, and Members of the IEEE Photonics Society,

It is my distinct pleasure to extend this invitation to all who are drawn to the science and engineering of light to attend the 2017 IEEE Photonics Conference (IPC). 2017 marks an important milestone in the history of IPC as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the conference.  It’s fitting to commemorate the evolution of IPC at this time when photonics has emerged as one of the main technological pillars of modern society.

Together with the members of the organizing committee we are making every effort to ensure the conference retains its technical preeminence, but becomes more impactful and more engaging through exciting plenary talks and special events.  Indeed, there is little excuse not to join us and attend the conference.

IPC will take place in Orlando, Florida from the 1st to the 5th of October 2017. On behalf of the Program Committee, including the Conference General Chair Hilmi Volkan Demir (NTU, Singapore and Bilkent University, Turkey), and the Members-at-Large Carmen Menoni (Colorado State University, USA) and Amr Helmy (University of Toronto, Canada), we strongly encourage you to attend IPC 2017 to stay informed of the latest developments within the global photonics community!
