There is a growing community of researchers and research groups working both in academic and industry, on applying intelligent agents and multi-agent systems on medical and healthcare applications. Indeed, agent based approaches and multi-agent systems allow a high grade of decentralization and flexibility. Besides conventional approaches, individual preferences can be taken into consideration by means of negotiation and adaptation methods. Diagnosis domain is well-established and supported by work groups, conferences and European projects. Since E-health involves heterogeneous and distributed knowledge, there are new challenges such as data integration, security and mobility. Moreover, ethic issues have to be addressed. Medical image analysis and processing are integrated into the diagnosis process. Evidence-based medicine is also integrated in order to improve the decision quality of the diagnosis process.Electronichealth records have the potential to improve the delivery of health care services, in particular for maintaining elderly or sick people at home. Cooperative approaches are particularly welcome because E-Health domain requires cooperation of several disciplines and require heterogeneous and distributed knowledge. It is expected that the workshop will help to identify new challenging problems that appear in the addressed research fields, and to show results and experiences realized by the researchers. The workshop will be organized in a way to stimulate interaction among the participants and to initiate collaborations.
