Nowadays, the whole world is generating massive data. Big data is emerging as a strategic property of nations and organizations. However, the large amount of data poses great challenges on traditional computers, thus High Throughput Computing (HTC) is proposed by researchers and becomes one of the most promising processing methods for big data. While power and energy consumptions have gained a lot of attentions over the years, the proposed solutions are mainly focus on traditional high performance computing architectures, which cannot meet new needs of big data applications. This workshop aims to provide a forum for practitioners and researchers from both industry and academia who work on different aspects of energy efficiency to exchange ideas on how to achieve low-power HTC computing for big data processing.
