The 2015 Preclinical Form & Formulation for Drug Discovery Gordon Research Conference will present cutting-edge research on evaluation of appropriate form and enabling formulations for drug candidates to facilitate understanding and development of drug delivery from drug discovery. New topics for this installment of the conference series will focus on Biomolecule drug development as well as alternate routes and targeted drug delivery. The conference will bring together academic and industry leaders in pharmaceutical materials science, preclinical formulation science, and biopharmaceutics. Experts will share methodologies that enable evaluation of potential drug candidates in preclinical species and facilitate both scientific and technological advances to increase efficiency in selection of formulations for preclinical to early clinical studies. Additionally, discussions will focus on ways that science and technology could transform the current state in this area and identify further knowledge gaps in scientific understanding and technological capabilities associated with this topic that can be explored and discussed at future conferences. The conference will also highlight topics on maximizing exposure of challenging drugs and compounds used in affecting relevant biological targets. Methodologies that can improve physical properties of materials, novel formulations that can help improve exposure, computational methodologies that can aid in predictions, and instrumentation technologies that can be applied will be explored.
