Genome Wide Association Studies have yielded unprecedented insights in the genetic and molecular architecture of complex traits of medical, agronomic and biological importance. However, the identified loci typically account for only a fraction of the heritability, and - for the majority of them - causative variants and genes remain unknown. By bringing together leading experts in genetics of human, animal, plant, model organism, and natural populations, the 15th conference on Quantitative Genetics and Genomics aims at creating a vibrant forum for the exchange of ideas on (i) the latest advances in the development and application of methods to further improve our comprehension of the genetic basis of multifactorial traits and the evolutionary forces that shape them, as well as (ii) how to translate this new knowledge in improved schemes for personalized medicine in human and for genomic selection in plants and animals.
