On behalf of the International Organizing Committee and the Local Organizing Committee we have much pleasure in extending a very cordial invitation to participate in this 24th International Workshop on Matrices and Statistics. This series of Workshops has a long history and we welcome the opportunity to hold the workshop once again in China. The 19th Workshop was held in Shanghai in 2010 and was a resounding success. We are sure that this 24th Workshop will also continue in the same tradition. The purpose of the Workshop is to stimulate research and, in an informal setting, to foster the interaction of researchers in the interface between statistics and matrix theory. The Workshop will provide a forum through which statisticians may be better informed of the latest developments and newest techniques in linear algebra and matrix theory and may exchange ideas with researchers from a wide variety of countries. For 2015 we are honoring Professor Kai Tai Fang on his 75th Birthday and Dr Simo Puntanen, the Vice Chair of the IOC, on his 70th Birthday. We are also making some minor changes to the format of the Workshop to strengthen the interactions in a number of areas by organizing some minisymposia. While we have invited some international researchers in the various areas, we welcome contributions from others who may wish to contribute to the sessions. If a particular minisymposium is of interest please contact the organizer, as listed on the Workshop website, if you would like to present a paper. We also invite submissions to the contributed papers sessions.
