Co-sponsored by IEEE Canada and IEEE Southern Alberta & Northern Canada Sections, the 14th annual Electrical Power and Energy Conference (EPEC 2014) will take place in Calgary, Alta., from November 12-14, 2014. EPEC aims to provide a forum for the exchange of electrical applications technology related to electrical power and energy generation, distribution systems and utilization. The focus for this year’s conference will be on partnerships between industrial users and power providers, bringing together industrial users, power providers, manufacturers, consultants and academia to discuss cutting-edge topics of interest to all stakeholders. Papers are still being sought on topics related to electric power and energy, particularly those focusing on: Industrial System Designation (ISD) Partnerships; renewable power generation in Alberta; co-generation; controls; grounding philosophy; reactive power; large drives; regulation/deregulation; protection; smart grid interoperability.
