活动简介
On behalf of the national organizing committee, it is our pleasure to announce that the Third International Citrus Biotechnology Symposium (ISCB2014) will be held from November 11 to 14, 2014 in Shizuoka, Japan. The symposium is organized under the auspices of the International Society of Horticultural Science (ISHS), International Society of Citriculture (ISC) and ISC Japan chapter, NARO Institute of Fruit Tree Science (NIFTS), and The Japanese Society for Horticultural Science (JSHS).
This symposium aims to catch up cutting‐edge of citrus research and exchange ideas among broad research fields. Biotechnology is a versatile and equivocal word that encompasses a wide range of concepts, procedure, materials, approaches, and equipment that combined to achieve a purpose. The applications and approaches based on biotechnology are widely used in all research fields for greatly reducing time span and improving reliability in citrus studies for genomics and genetics, physiology, disease control and management, omics towards functions. Biotechnology‐oriented research is still growing, and new application or technologies are anticipated. We hope this symposium will contribute to the development of the citrus industry.
The First International Citrus Biotechnology Symposium was held in Eilat, Israel, from November 29 to December 3, 1998 by the efforts of Drs. R. Goren, E. E. Goldschmidt, M. Davidzon, and Y. Erner. The proceeding was published as an ISHS Acta Horticulturae (535: First International Citrus Biotechnology Symposium).
The Second International Symposium on Citrus Biotechnology was held in Catania, Italy, from November 30 to December 2, 2009 by the efforts of Drs. A. Gentile and E. Tribulato. The proceeding was also published as an ISHS Acta Horticulturae (892: II International Symposium on Citrus Biotechnology).
We also hope all participants will take an opportunity to touch Japanese culture, history and good hospitality during their stay. We are looking forward to seeing you in Shizuoka.
