活动简介
The Philippine Long Term Ecological Research Network (PhiLTERnet) was accepted as a member of ILTER in 2006. PhiLTERnet is composed of researchers from various academic institutions (Central Mindanao University, Silliman University, University of the Philippines Diliman, University of the Philippines Los Banos), other government agencies (Biodiversity Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippine Council for the Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development, Department of Science and Technology, Commission on Higher Education) and international organization (Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture)
PhiLTERnet aims to establish a network of long term ecological sites across the country and across various ecosystems wherein ecological problems are investigated and science-based solutions are sought. Using minimum dataset protocols, comparisons can be made and answer a basic ecological question: “what is happening to ecosystems across space, across time?” From this basic ecological questions, a better understanding of how ecosystems function, that can lead to better management of the environment.
Currently, LTER sites in the Philippines currently include the following areas:
Palanan Forest Dynamics Plot, Palanan, Isabela
BacMan Forest Dynamics Plot, Manito, Albay and Bacon, Sorsogon
Makiling Forest Reserve, Los Banos, Laguna
