活动简介
We are pleased to invite you to attend the 17th World Congress of Psychophysiology (IOP2014), which will take place in Hiroshima, Japan from September 23 to 27, 2014. IOP2014 is the 17th official congress of the International Organization of Psychophysiology (IOP). Since the first IOP congress took place in Montreal, Canada in 1982, sixteen World Congresses have been held, once every two years. We would like to emphasize that IOP2014 is the first IOP congress that will take place in East Asia. Owing to the advance of globalization, various techniques of psychophysiology and neuroscience have become popular not only in Japan but also in many Asian countries such as Korea and China. Although research groups in these countries have published papers in international journals, the opportunity to meet face-to-face and discuss various topics in the field has been relatively limited. This is especially true for students and young researchers in East Asia. Therefore, we believe this world congress will be a wonderful opportunity to advance our mutual understanding. One of the reasons we applied to organize the IOP congress in Japan this time is that we would like to reciprocate the invaluable support we received immediately after the disaster (earthquakes and tsunami) that hit the Eastern part of Japan in March 2011. Taking this opportunity, we thank all of you for your kindness. Although the congress venue of IOP2014, Hiroshima, is a city of West Japan that is located 900 km from the affected area, we are working together with people in East Japan for reconstruction. In 2014, we look forward to having you in a new Japan, which we hope is better than ever. The program of IOP2014 will include Keynote lectures, Didactic lectures, Symposia, and Poster Sessions. The topics of presentation will cover all areas of psychophysiology. The accepted abstracts will be published in a special issue of International Journal of Psychophysiology (published by Elsevier), which will be distributed to all registered participants. At Social Events, you will enjoy various types of Japanese cuisine and sake (Japanese rice wine). The call for papers (symposia and poster presentations) will be announced in October 2013 on this website. Full and associate members of IOP will receive a considerable discount off the registration fees. For more information, please visit the official website of IOP at http://iopworld.org. We sincerely hope that IOP2014 will be an important milestone for further development and promotion of international collaboration and discussion among psychophysiologists around the world. Your active cooperation will certainly make this Congress more significant and more memorable.
