活动简介
East Siberia is a vast territory that occupies a quarter of Russia and extends from the Arctic Ocean to the Mongolian border, and from the right bank of the Yenisei River to the Far East highlands. This region rich with natural resources and amazing natural monuments is still underexplored. At the beginning of the 21st century the long desired dream of geologists came true: East Siberia has become a major oil-producing region. In 2012, oil production in East Siberia and the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic amounted to 50 million tons and it will continue to grow. In the coming years, this region will start producing gas. Several gas chemical clusters and centres producing ultra-pure liquefied helium will be created in East Siberia and the Russian Far East. Stable growth of oil and gas reserves should be ensured to support sustainable economic development of the region. Complex geological structure of East Siberia is a hindering factor in studies of the region, however, exploration and prospecting activities in the region have a high priority at the moment. It becomes obvious that holding the geological and geophysical forum is an important task to achieve the set goals. Indeed, sharing experience, meeting with professionals and discussing problems with colleagues allow finding the most efficient ways of attaining business objectives.
