The American Accounting Association (AAA) would like to invite you to an exciting conference on accounting teaching and research taking place April 24 - 26, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah and presented by the Western Region of the AAA. The theme of our meeting is Sustainability of the Accounting Academy: Expanding Our Community.
With ten different concurrent sessions and a poster session focusing on pedagogy, technology, and innovation
in accounting education this will be a great opportunity for faculty and students
to learn and share teaching, research, and service ideas.
In addition to concurrent sessions and paper presentations, the meeting will also feature a full track of sessions sponsored by the nationally-recognized Conference on Teaching and Learning in Accounting (CTLA) and a track of sessions focused on the needs of Non-Tenure Track Faculty. Additionally, there will also be a walking tour/workshop of Welfare Square that promises to offer a fascinating look at one of the largest service centers in the world. The 13.5 acre facility consists of an employment center, bakery, canning facility, thrift store, milk-processing operation, storehouse, and grain elevator, and provides food and other resources for hundreds of needy individuals in the Salt Lake area. The Square also serves as a model and resource for dozens of smaller centers throughout the world. The tour will include a guided tour around the facility and a presentation and Q&A session by Gordon Carmen, CPA, Controller for the LDS Church's Welfare Services Department.
