Nowadays, due to the huge demand of economic development in China， the large-scale structures and facilities play an increasing important and irreplaceable role in economic construction. Meanwhile, some subjects, such as the safety assurance of large-scale structures and facilities in service and life extension technology under efficient operation, are always the central concerns for the scientific researchers and engineering staff. Structural health monitoring and integrity management technology, together with the advanced methods of signal processing and the structural mechanics modeling method, can extract damage parameters and identify the health status of the structure by real-time information from installed sensors, and give remedial measures in early stage to eliminate or keep the security threat from further development, besides, it also can provide suggestions to avoid accidents, ensure the structure safety and reduce the maintenance cost. Furthermore, scientific, informative data for safety evaluation and residual life judgment can be provided from processing the key structural parameters in operation. In order to promote the development and application of structural health monitoring technology in China, and strengthen the international cooperation and exchanges, Equipment Structure Health Monitoring and Prognostics Society of China Instrument and Control Society (CIS) hold the 2nd International Conference on Structural Health Monitoring and Integrity Management. The conference are planned to be held in different cities of China every two years. "The 2nd International Conference on Structural Health Monitoring and Integrity Management"is hosted by China Instrument and Control Society (CIS),China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute, Southeast University and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Equipment Structural Health Monitoring and Prognostics Institute of CIS, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Southeast University work as the organizer. Testarc Technologies Co.,Ltd and Stress Measurement branch of China Nondestructive Testing Society work as the co-organizer. Special Equipment Safety Supervision Inspection Institute of Jiangsu Province, Nanjing Special Equipment Vessel Supervisory Institute and Nanjing Boiler Pressure Vessel Inspection Institute are the supporting organizations. The conference aims to promote the application and development of new methods and products in China, and it also provides a communication platform for the scholars, experts and researchers engaged in related field to present the latest research achievement. Meanwhile, universities, enterprise and scientific institutions are welcomed to carry out in-depth co-operation with the society to promote the prosperity of the structural health monitoring. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, which is going to be recommended to the EI index.
