The aim of the International Conference on Learning and Teaching in Computing and Engineering (LaTiCE) in conjunction with Regional Conference in Engineering Education & Research in Higher Education (RCEE & RHEd) 2014 is to create a platform towards sharing current practices and rigorous research being conducted in computing and engineering education. The conference serves to facilitate and bring together people with an interest and focus on the unique challenges of learning and teaching computing and engineering in multi-cultural contexts in universities and high schools and emphasize innovative and emergent practices that are informed by pragmatic scholarship. LaTiCE in conjunction with RCEE & RHEd 2014 is jointly organized by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), UTM Johor Bahru, Malaysia and Uppsala Computing Education Research Group (UpCERG), Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden. This event is sponsored by Sarawak Convention Bureau. This conference is co-sponsored by the Special Technical Community for Education Research (STC Education) which is an IEEE Computer Society initiative to connect those interested in all forms of educational research and pedagogy in the field of computing and engineering. The event will be in held Kuching, Sarawak, East Malaysia (Malaysian Borneo). It is about an hour flight from UTM Johor Bahru and Singapore. In Kuching, you can have a close encounter with the orangutans in their natural habitat and visit the longhouse. In Johor Bahru, you can enjoy yourself at the Legoland and visit Tanjung Piai (southernmost tip of mainland Asia). In Singapore you can experience the excitement at the Universal Studios and Sentosa Island. LaTiCE in conjunction with RCEE & RHEd 2014 will include a Doctoral Consortium, workshops, as well as presentations of research papers, practice sharing papers, work in progress papers, group discussions, display of posters and demos. It will start with a Doctoral Consortium on 10 April 2014 and the conference from 11-13 April 2014.
