The 18th Annual Conference of HKSTAM 2014 in conjunction with the 10th Shanghai–Hong Kong Forum on Mechanics and Its Application will be held at March 15, 2014 in City University of Hong Kong. This conference is co-organized by the Hong Kong Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (HKSTAM), the Shanghai Society of Mechanics (SSM), and City University of Hong Kong (CityU). The conference topics cover mechanics and its application in all science and engineering disciplines. 　　The morning session of the conference will include four keynote lectures (40 minutes) including one invited keynote from SSM. The afternoon session of the conference consists of a series of parallel sessions (15 minutes for each talk). The due date for submitting one A4-page extended-abstract in MS word file to Dr. Paul LAM, the Secretary of HKSTAM, is February 15, 2014. It is very important to include personal information (i.e., title, authors, affiliations, email address) for the corresponding author and presenter in the extended-abstract. Please use the attached extended-abstract template in Microsoft Word format in preparing the extended abstract for submission. All accepted extended-abstracts will be included in the conference proceedings. 　　Pre-registration with the attached registration form is required. Please send the completed registration form to Dr. Paul LAM at paullam@cityu.edu.hk as soon as possible. HKSTAM will send an invitation letter to each participant for VISA application. 　　Registration Fee:For all participants: RMB1,000/head (covering lunch, coffee break and dinner). The fee is payable in cash on-site at the conference.
