The International Convention on Science of Learning is co-organized by the National Science Foundation (USA), OECD and UNESCO, in collaboration with the East China Normal University (ECNU), Shanghai Normal University and The University of Hong Kong, to be held March 1-6, 2014 in Shanghai, China. This Convention comprises three events: Science of Learning Symposium on March 1, 2014. This Symposium is organized by the National Science Foundation (USA) to highlight research on the burgeoning science of learning research being conducted in the United States and cognate research taking place in the People’s Republic of China at universities and research institutes such as the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning at Beijing Normal University and the Institute of Neuroscience in Shanghai, with the goal of fostering collaboration. Dialogue on Science of Learning – How can it make a difference? on March 3-4, 2014. The major objective of the Dialogue is to provide an opportunity for key stakeholders concerned with learning to collectively and critically reflect on how cutting edge, research based knowledge on Science of Learning can be optimally applied to: (i) better understand human learning, (ii) facilitate learning and enhance practices in education, and (iii) inform policies to better support such practices. International Forum on Science of Learning and Innovation in Education on March 5-6, 2014. This Forum, organized by East China Normal University, aims to further the dissemination of recent research on how people learn and the dialogue on how science of learning can make a difference in educational policy and practice. The topics primarily include: (i) frontier of Science of Learning, (ii) how Science of Learning makes differences in educational practice, (iii) how Science of Learning makes differences in educational policy, and (iv) how Science of Learning makes differences in teacher education.
