ICHEP is a series of international conferences organized by the C11 commission of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). It is held every second year since more than 50 years and is the reference conference of particle physics where most relevant results are presented. The Spanish particle and astroparticle physics community is very proud to organize the 37th International Conference on High Energy Physics (ICHEP) in Valencia from the 2nd to the 9th of July 2014. Spain was one of the thirteen initial members of IUPAP in 1922 but this is the first time that Spain hosts this conference. Particle physics is experiencing a very successful period with the discovery of the Higgs boson at CERN which validates the Brout-Englert-Higgs mechanism and marks the culmination of decades of intellectual and technical effort around the world. Now, the thorough study of the properties of this new particle sets the dawn of the next era of investigations which will eventually unravel the implications of the new "object" which has been discovered. At ICHEP all areas, particle, neutrino, flavour, astroparticle, new physics beyond the Standard Model, etc.., share the exciting results obtained in the field and exchange views among all experiment and theory experts of the world. The workshop will consist of parallel and invited plenary sessions. A poster session will emphasize the work and results of young PhD students. Two special sessions complementary to the workshop will commemorate the 60th anniversary of CERN. A first one will cover technological and social impacts whereas the second one will be dedicated to review scientific results. The first session should also serve to recap the opportunities of industry in present and future particle physics projects as the conference in general also provides the place and forum to plan major future facilities of the field. Valencia, the third largest city in Spain, located on the East, is a place of contrasts between historic and modern Spain. Valencia’s architecture dates from the first century B.C. as a Roman settlement, and goes to the most futuristic, 21st century design as the City of Arts and Sciences. Valencia mixes tradition and modernity, offering culture, museums, art, architecture, entertainment, gastronomy and, on average, enjoys over 300 days of Mediterranean light every year.
