On behalf of the Board of Trustees of Chinese Culture University, I would like to extend my heartily welcome to all participants, exercise and sport scientists, physical educators, dance and health professionals to the 6th Asia-Pacific Conference on Exercise and Sport (6th APCESS) which will be held at Chinese Culture University from November 2 to 5, 2013. The 6th APCESS will host more than 1000 participants participating in 5 keynotes speech, 5 invited speech, 15 symposiums and 8 workshops over a two and half day period. The theme of the 6th APCESS 2013 is “Caring for the Future Generation: A Holistic Approach Leading towards Health and Active Living”. Physically inactive is putting an enormous stress on the health problems and may bring about metabolic syndromes. Active living is therefore becoming a worldwide movement. A healthy active living is a lifestyle that many people of all ages strive for, and with a little effort, it is totally possible to accomplish through some easy life changes, such as, start with a healthy diet and regular exercise. Regular exercise has proven health benefits for anyone who wants to maintain a healthy lifestyle and improve their physical fitness. Chinese Culture University has a long history of excellence in exercise and sports science, and we are especially proud of this opportunity to present our Sports Center’s state of the art facilities. I am confident that the 6th APCESS will promote and share the research findings and results which will enable all participants to continue their professional distinction in teaching, coaching, health promotion and sports training. By bringing the 6th APCESS to our University we aim to leave a lasting legacy for the promotion of exercise and sports science into active living across the age span.
