It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 3rd European Energy Conference (E2C 2013), which will be held in Budapest, Hungary on October 27-30, 2013. The conference is organised by the Hungarian Chemical Society (HCS) in cooperation with the Eötvös Roland Physical Society (HPS), as well as the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences (EuCheMS), the European Physical Society (EPS) and the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS). The European Energy Conference series has been launched in 2010 in Barcelona, Spain, the 2nd. E2C was held in Maastricht, the Netherlands. The venue of the 3rd Conference is Hotel Flamenco in Budapest. Budapest is the beautiful capital city of Hungary along the sides of the river Danube. The banks of the Danube along with the Buda Castle, Heroes’ Square and Andrássy Avenue are part of the UNESCO World Heritage. After the scientific sessions you may enjoy Hungarian food and wine in fine restaurants or visit famous thermal baths, or museums as well as concerts and opera performances. The topics of the Conference will cover chemistry, physics and material sciences related to energy technologies. In addition to plenary and session keynote presentations on diverse energy themes. To harness safely and efficiently the energy of the Sun both directly and indirectly, as well as the nuclear and thermonuclear power generation are in the centre of the conference programme. Energy storage in chemical and other forms, hydrogen infrastructure and energy transfer by photosynthesis will also be discussed. In this spirit the parallel sessions will deal with energy sources, storage and conversion of energy. We hope that the conference will lead to effective and fruitful communication between the research, government and industrial communities for a more sustainable and efficient European energy policy.
