活动简介
Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 based ferro-/piezoelectric ceramics have been dominating for more than 60 years in the applications of many sensors, transducers and actuators, for their excellent piezoelectric properties. However, ecological restrictions in many parts of the world are demanding the elimination of Pb-based materials from many of consumer items (RoHS, WEEE). Given its undeniable environmental and health benefits, the development of lead-free piezoelectric materials has been the subject of intensive research over the past decade. Despite the progress made, there are challenging obstacles that remain to besurmounted, especially in terms of materials processing in various forms, MPB and PPT, piezoelectric performance, temperature stability as well as their applications for ultrasonic transducers, sensors and actuators. Based on the International team of the lead-free piezoelectric study (MWN: Materials World Network), we organized The International Workshop on Lead-Free Ferroelectric Materials, Oct. 28-30, 2010, in Shanghai, China (IWLFFM-2010). There were totally 55 abstracts and 102 attendees from countries including Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Russia, UK and USA. It was a successful workshop, which was an impetus to the collaboration and deep understanding of lead-free ferroelectric materials. Since then, an International Partnership Program for Creative Research Teams Supported by the CAS/SAFEA has been undertaking for the period of 2013-2016. A Cooperative Key-project groups will be launched this year by the NSFC. The fundamental of lead-free ferro-/piezoelectric study is a hot-topic and active field. International Workshop on Lead-free Ferro-/Piezoelectric Materials and Their Applications is the continuation of the last workshop, besides the fundamental of lead-free materials, the applications have been raised to the issues in the recent years. Therefore, the Topics of this workshop will focused on the fabrication of lead-free ferroelectric materials, new phenomena in processing and characterization, structure-property-performance relationships especially for the mechanism of piezoelectric response at the compositions of solid solution materials near the MPB, as well as their applications for sensors, transducers and actuators. (1) Processing of single crystals, textured ceramics and thin films of lead-free ferro-/ piezoelectric materials; (2) Phase transitions and critical phenomena near PPT and MPB; (3) Micro-/Nanostructures, defects, domains, domain boundaries and nano polar regions; (4) Theory, modeling and searching for new lead-free ferroelectric materials; (5) The applications of lead-free piezoelectric materials for ultrasonic transducers. This Workshop aims at providing a platform to enhance the communication, exchange and collaboration among the researchers working on fundamentals and applications of lead-free ferro-/piezoelectric materials. A panel discussion for the collaborations among participants will be arranged. The invited speakers should be offered free registration and local expenditures.
