We invite you to attend the 5th International Conference on One dimensional Nanomaterials ICON 2013. It will be held in september 23rd-26th 2013 in Annecy in the the French Alps. The last four conferences were held in Taipei in Taiwan (2005), Lund in Sweden (2007), Atlanta in the US (2009), Beijing in China (2011) and were highly successful, as concerns both the the level of participation and the high quality of the science presented. Scope and topics This conference aims to provide an overview of the most recent advances in one-dimensional nanostructures (nanowires, nanotubes...) made of semiconductor or metal materials. A broad range of subjects will be covered, from materials science to basic physics and device applications. Particular attention will be devoted, but not limited to: - Fabrication, growth, and structural characterization - Hybrid heterostructures - Theory and modeling - Nanoelectronics and transport - Photonics and spectroscopy - Spintronics and magnetism - Sensors and biointerface - Energy harvesting and storage Transverse subjects such as modelling and advanced characterization techniques will also be addressed.
